A Brooklyn jury recently awarded a Plaintiff $150,000 for injuries sustained in a September 2012 motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Park Avenue and Taaffe Place in Brooklyn.

At the time of the accident, the Plaintiff's vehicle, which was traveling on Park Avenue, was struck by Defendant's vehicle which was attempting to make a left turn onto Taaffe Place. Defendant argued that plaintiff shared fault in the accident because they Plaintiff had the last chance of avoiding the impact and failed to see what had to be seen.

As a result of the accident, Plaintiff sustained a left knee medial meniscus tear and herniated discs in his neck and back. The Plaintiff underwent surgery to repair the meniscus tear and required several months of physical therapy after the surgery.

The Brooklyn jury returned with a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff determining that the Defendant was wholly responsible for the accident. The jury awarded the Plaintiff $150,000 as compensation for past and future pain and suffering.
